Melbourne Heart FC-s Patrick Kisnorbo expressed his excitement ahead of the new season at the official launch of the Hyundai A-League at Melbourne-s AAMI Park today.

Kisnorbo, Iain Ramsay and Head Coach John Aloisi attended the launch, welcoming the start of season nine, which commences for Melbourne Heart on Saturday evening in the Melbourne Derby at Etihad Stadium.

The 2013/14 season will feature 127 regular season fixtures, a sudden death finals series, international marquee players and an expanding group of talented Australian players who will all be hoping to book a place in the Socceroos squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

This – coupled with the increasing media coverage of Australia’s top tier of football – with matches broadcast LIVE by Fox Sports and with SBS joining the Football Family to give the Hyundai A-League its first taste of free-to-air exposure – has Kisnorbo raring to go ahead of the big kick off.

“I-m just excited to be here, excited to work alongside Johnny [Head Coach John Aloisi] and Foxey [Assistant Coach Hayden Foxe]… they-ve had great experience in their careers so hopefully they can pass it onto us and we can go out there and make them proud,” Kisnorbo said.

Kisnorbo, who joined Melbourne Heart almost a month ago on September 10, believes he is in good shape for Round One after a month of solid pre-season.

“It-s been great, it-s been hard – Johnny has been putting us through our paces which is fantastic and we-ve been doing a little bit of extracurricular things behind the scenes which has been good,” Kisnorbo said.

“It has just been a great learning experience to be back here learning with the likes of John.”

Kisnorbo is set to debut for the Red and White this Saturday, if selected to play against Melbourne Victory.
