Countdown to kick-off with family and friends at the club’s pre-match fan hub, City Square!

Make your way down to Goschs Paddock before every A-League home match to enjoy a variety of fun pre-game events.

Kids can replicate their A-League and W-League heroes at our community run football clinics and interact with their favourite Melbourne City mascots, while there will be plenty of food, activities and free giveaways to keep you occupied before the big game.

Keep an eye out for our ‘Awful Referees’, who will be patrolling Swan St before the match while making some very dubious decisions!

Deck yourselves out in City colours with a range of products from our merchandise van, and enjoy a relaxing and family-friendly atmosphere in the lead up to an exciting match of football.

Support the Red Poppy Appeal

Round 6 of the Hyundai A-League 2016/17 Season will be devoted to remembering and acknowledging the noble sacrifices made by service men and women past and present during times of war, in a joint initiative between Football Federation Australia (FFA) and the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

The ‘Remembrance Round’ initiative will aim to help promote the observance of Remembrance Day nationally, raise funds for the RSL and provide benefits to ADF personnel and utilise the Hyundai A-League as a vehicle to effect meaningful social change by bringing a focus on to the significance of Remembrance Day. 

Make sure you keep an eye out for the red poppies on the AAMI Park concourse and support the Red Poppy Appeal this week.

Remembrance Day Ceremony

Melbourne City FC will be hosting a special Remembrance Day ceremony prior to the kick-off against Newcastle Jets.  

Former Australian Army officer Peter J. Smith OAM will perform a recitation of the Ode, the fourth stanza of the poem For the Fallen by Laurence Binyon.

Mr Smith was a member of the Australian Regular Army (Royal Regiment of Australian Artillery) for 25 years, serving his country in Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Germany, Canada, United Kingdom and New Zealand.

He was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia on Australia Day in 1989, and enjoyed a post-Army career in manufacturing management for 14 years.

Traditional bugle calls – The Last Post and The Rowse – will be played prior to kick-off, in addition to a minutes silence in tribute to those who have sacrificed their lives during times of war.

Merchandise

Melbourne City merchandise will be available on match day, including the Nike 2016/17  Home and Away shirts, official polo, tracksuit jacket and hoodie!

Merchandise will be available outside AAMI Park at the van at City Square, our new match day store on the Olympic Boulevard concourse next to Edwin’s cafe, and inside the stadium next to aisles 3 and 23.
