Melbourne Heart FC-s player development squad is set to take part in the Melbourne Chinese New Year Charity Shield tournament at the Veneto Club in Bulleen on January 22.

The tournament will see Josip Skoko-s development squad take on the Victoria Police Soccer Club and a Melbourne Chinese Soccer Association representative outfit in a round-robin event to raise funds for Special Olympics Victoria.

Supported by Melbourne Heart FC-s major partner Westpac, admission to the event is free, with a barbeque and activities for youngsters underway from 11am.

General Manager, Community, Sue Crow said the tournament would provide the perfect way to usher in the Chinese New Year.

“Melbourne Heart FC is excited to be taking part in the event, which will raise funds for Special Olympics Victoria,” Crow said.

“We are excited to be participating in the tournament alongside the Victoria Police Soccer Club and the Melbourne Chinese Soccer Association, as we help celebrate the Chinese New Year through the round ball.”
