Melbourne City FC can today announce the contract extensions of centre back Curtis Good and Olyroos goalkeeper Tom Glover.
Both players were contracted until the end of this season but Good has now signed a three-year extension while Glover has extended for a further two seasons beyond 2020/21.
Good has made 72 appearances for City and scored two goals while Glover has appeared in 17 fixtures for the Club since becoming the number one goalkeeper midway through last season.
Good has consistently proven himself to be one of the A-League’s best defenders since returning to the Club from England prior to the 2018/19 season.
Since getting his opportunity in goal last season, Glover has been one of the brightest young talents in the A-League and announced himself on the biggest stage last season, pulling off eight saves in the Grand Final.
These re-signings give City further stability at the back which will be crucial not just this season but in seasons to come as the Patrick Kisnorbo era at City continues.
Melbourne City FC Director of Football Michael Petrillo said:
“We are delighted to have secured a couple of our key defensive pillars; it adds to the stability that we have built over the past two seasons.
“Despite his young age, Tom has shown the enormous talent he has in a short period of time and I am sure he will continue to develop and take his game to another level with Melbourne City in the years to come.
“To also have secured the services of one of the A-Leagues key defenders for a further three years beyond this current season speaks volumes about the football program we have here at City and our commitment to build a stable and strong roster in the ensuing years.
“It’s a credit to our medical and sports science staff and to the commitment of Curtis to see how well he has performed over the last couple of years. I am sure Curtis still has his best football in front of him so we are thrilled that he will be with us long term.”
Melbourne City FC has also signed 18-year-old left back Jordan Bos to a Scholarship contract which will run until the end of June next year. Bos had previously been a part of City’s Academy and has been rewarded with a Scholarship contract after impressing the coaching staff.
