Over 3 000 Melbourne Heart FC fans and members turned out to the Club’s annual Family Day on Sunday 22 September, in a fantastic demonstration of support for the Red and White.

The event, held at the La Trobe University-s Bundoora campus playing fields, was well attended as fans engaged in a day of fun, family and football.

With the day having a strong emphasis on the relationship between the Club’s passionate fan base and the playing group, the full Hyundai A-League 2013-14 squad and coaches mingled together throughout the day with the fans.

Former goalkeeper Clint Bolton ran proceedings as MC throughout the day while the players moved throughout membership and merchandise stalls, sponsor activations, a human foosball match, face painting, small sided games and more.

New signing Michael Mifsud met Red and White fans for the first time, while Patrick Kisnorbo also received a warm welcome at the Melbourne club.

Melbourne Heart FC captain Harry Kewell was especially popular on a day which marked his 35th birthday, while there were many opportunities for fans to take photos, grab a signature and have a chat about the upcoming season with all the players.

The whole first team squad received a warm reception when they were officially unveiled as the 2013-14 senior playing group.

In a special presentation to the fans, Melbourne Heart FC’s latest signing, Andrea Migliorini, was revealed as the Club’s number 25 for the new season as an injury replacement player for Orlando Engelaar.

Head Coach John Aloisi closed the day’s proceedings with a special thank you to the fans.

“Thanks very much for supporting us; it’s a big deal for us to have your support, not only today but on match days and throughout the year and we want to be succesful not only for ourselves and for our team but for our fans,” Aloisi said.
