A number of young and enthusiastic goalkeepers braved the wet, windy and muddy conditions on Wednesday to take part in Melbourne Heart FC’s goalkeeper clinic.

Ten young keepers from around the country were given the opportunity to show off their skills to the Melbourne Heart coaches.

The kids were fortunate enough to be exposed to a plethora of goalkeeping experience, with the clinic featuring goalkeeping coach Joey Didulica, senior goalkeeper Tando Velaphi, National Youth League goalkeeping coach Sam Strangos and Youth League goalkeeper Marko Stevanja.

Former Melbourne Heart goalkeeper Clint Bolton also popped down to lend some handy tips to the aspiring keepers.

“Many of these young keepers travelled long distances to attend, with some travelling from Wodonga, Wangaratta, Rye and even Finley in NSW,” said Sue Crow, GM of Community at Melbourne Heart.

“Several of the kids come back each school holidays which is a testament to the high quality coaching that we provide.

“It is great to see the improvement that takes place every session.”
