Mebrahtu, who joined Melbourne Heart FC at the start of the 2012-13 Hyundai A-League season, received an opportunity with another A-League club and Melbourne Heart believed it to be in the Club-s best interest to allow him to move on.
“Golgol has been a good professional during his time with us so we wish him nothing but the best. Given he is moving on at season-s end, it was not worthwhile persisting with him ahead of other players who are here for the long term, which for us promises to be very exciting,” General Manager, Football Operations, John Didulica said.
Mebrahtu made 12 appearances for Melbourne Heart this season.
