Mifsud set for AAMI debut against Wanderers

Melbourne Heart FC fans will be able to catch Michael Mifsud in action for the first time at AAMI Park when the Red and White’s Maltese striker fronts up against Western Sydney Wanderers on Friday evening.

Melbourne Heart FC fans will have the opportunity to catch a first glimpse of Michael Mifsud in the flesh at AAMI Park as the Maltese star makes his home debut for the Red and White.

Mifsud is a renowned figure in Maltese football, having earned over 100 caps, held the captain-s armband and has scored 38 goals for his country.

Mifsud has played twice for the Red and White, debuting against Perth Glory and illustrating his speed and agility against Brisbane Roar.

Mifsud was unlucky not to open his account against Brisbane, but will look to get off the mark against one of the tightest back lines in the league.

Hungry for his first goal for Melbourne Heart, Mifsud will face a difficult opponent in Western Sydney Wanderers on Friday night – but Mifsud, who has made a habit of scoring against some of Europe-s best, will no doubt relish the challenge.

Wanderers, who claimed the Premier-s Plate last season, remain a difficult side to break down, but Mifsud will be confident he can link up with his team mates to expose the visitors.

It will be an intriguing encounter, while fans will no doubt be intrigued to see ‘The Mosquito- in action in person.

In other team news, Jason Hoffman and Patrick Kisnorbo remain sidelined, which means Jeremy Walker is likely to feature in defence, while Nick Kalmar and Benjamin Garuccio – who played for the Foxtel National Youth League team last week – will be in contention for a senior berth.

The Wanderers are near full strength, with Youssouf Hersi the only player absent through injury.
