Melbourne City FC stars Aaron Mooy and Safuwan Baharudin featured in international friendlies mid-week with mixed results for their respective countries.
Mooy, who was selected for the Socceroos side to take on Germany and FYR Macedonia during March, came on as a second half substitute against the World Champions in the 69th minute, replacing Mark Milligan in the centre of the park. After settling his way into the end-to-end contest, Mooy played his part in the impressive 2-2 draw.
The Melbourne City FC midfielder will be a part of the Socceroos side to take on FYR Macedonia on Tuesday 31 March (Wednesday 1 April, 6:00am AEDT, Fox Sports 5, channel 404).
Meanwhile Melbourne City FC defender Safuwan Baharudin also featured in international action on Thursday as his Singaporean side were defeated 2-0 by Thailand in Korat. Safuwan played the full 90 minutes in his side’s loss and will prepare for the second friendly against Guam on Tuesday 31 March in Singapore.
