Former Melbourne City midfielder Aaron Mooy has been named in the English Football League Team of the Season after the league’s awards night on Sunday.
The Socceroos midfielder’s first season in the Championship has been a revelation, transforming his outstanding season in Australia with City to the English second tier.
Mooy has found the back of the net four times and provided five assists so far this season with promotion-seeking Huddersfield but has shone brightest in the Terrier’s engine room, averaging 71.4 passes per game.
The Manchester City loanee’s latest accolade only adds to the growing list of honours for him this season also being named in the Championship’s Team of the Season last month.
Mooy’s Huddersfield remain in the hunt for a promotion spot to the Premier League with the playoff spots looking a likely outcome for the Yorkshire club.
