Melbourne City FC re-commenced its pre-season at La Trobe University on Thursday.

John van’t Schip’s side returned from a 17-day pre-season camp at Manchester City FC’s training facility on Monday.

The senior side were afforded the use of Manchester City’s Carrington Training Centre during the Club’s UK tour, which included three pre-season friendlies against English opposition.

Following two draws, against Bury FC and Oldham Athletic, and a win over a developmental Bolton Wanderers side, the senior team will return to the Lower Playing Fields at La Trobe University, where there have been extensive works completed to improve the existing facilities and pitch.

The University commenced upgrading the pitches mid last year and Melbourne City FC will continue to be based at La Trobe heading into the Hyundai A-League 2014/15 season.
