Melbourne City will look to bounce back this Saturday as they take on Ballarat Red Devils in Round 7 of PS4 NPL2 West Victoria at the City Football Academy Pitches.

City have dropped off the pace and sit fourth after two consecutive losses against cross-conference opponents and will look to get back on the winner’s list against the Red Devils.

Last week’s result to Brunswick City put a dent into Joe Palatsides side’s early form after going down 3-0 in tricky conditions at Dunstan Reserve. The boys will look to bounce back this week against a Ballarat side still looking to find their feet this season after a start that has seen them pick up six points in just as many games.

After James Robinson was reinstated as coach in the late stages of pre-season, his side have won two matches against cellar-dwellers Weribee City and sixth place Moreland City. Goals against has been an issue for Ballarat and going by both teams’ record this season, goals will be aplenty this weekend.

Nelson Salvatore is the player to watch for the Red Devils with the striker dangerous in the final third. Salvatore was on the scoresheet in last week’s 4-1 loss to Dandenong City and the forward will look for any opportunity to find the back of the net come Saturday.

Entry is free to the match with the Under 20’s kicking off at 12:45pm with Senior kick-off at 3pm.
