NPL2 West has hit the half way mark of the 2015 season as Melbourne City’s NPL side prepare to face Round 1 opponents Bendigo City.

It was a rampant performance last time out for City as Joe Palatsides’ side made light work of a Bendigo City side finding their feet in the NPL. Goals to Jordan Hall, Guiseppe Marifioti, Stefan Zinni and the departed Phil Petreski sealed the 4-0 win at Epsom Huntly Reserve.

City’s results over the past month have replicated their start to the season, sky-rocketing up the NPL2 West log-jam to sit in third position, two points from North Geelong in top spot. With North Geelong facing St Albans this week in a derby, three points on Saturday could see City within reach of top spot.

Bendigo sit second last in NPL2 West however City have made hard work of sides in the lower tier of the ladder, getting over the line in a tight contest against Sunshine George Cross last week and a 3-3 draw with Werribee City earlier in the season.
