Melbourne City will look to keep in touch with the leading pack with three points over Werribee City on Saturday at CFA’s Academy Pitches.
City have dropped off the pace with the league leaders, sitting in sixth and seven points off top. After an impressive start to the season, back-to-back losses to cross-conference opponents has seen City lose their lustre and will look to get back to winning ways against Weribee this week.
A 0-0 draw against St Albans last week saw Joe Palatsides’ side pick up an important point at a tricky venue and three points this week is a must against the Bees.
After relegation from the top flight last season, Werribee have seen a change of coach but not a change in fortune, still sitting on one point after eight matches. Delfin Mosibe Esara is the one to watch for the away side with the attacking midfielder finding the back of the net four times so far this season, almost half of his side’s season tally.
The Equatoguinean has had a stints in Spain, spending time in the youth setups with Real Madrid and Real Valladoid and has represented his country at national level.
