Melbourne Heart FC’s National Youth League team is set to make its debut against the Australian Institute of Sport during the Club’s Family Day at La Trobe University on Sunday 25 September between 11am and 2pm.

Melbourne Heart FC-s home base at La Trobe University will be transformed into a sea of Red and White as the Club stages its Family Day on Sunday 25 September from 11am – 2pm.

With every member of the Heart squad in attendance, the event will provide the Red and White family with a chance to show its support before the start of the Hyundai A-League season.

Among the highlights of the event include the debut outing for Melbourne Heart FC-s National Youth League team which, led by Socceroo legend John Aloisi, will take on the Australian Institute of Sport in a friendly hit-out, placing the future of the Red and White on show.

Junior members will also be able to participate in free clinics on the day, fine tuning their skills with the guidance of the Heart squad, while there will also be player signings, photo booths and a host of other activities for the family.

Chief Executive Officer Scott Munn said the Family Day promises to be an exciting way to usher in the new season.

“Following the success of our first ever Family Day earlier this year, we are keenly anticipating this season-s event at our training base at La Trobe University,” he said.

“The Family Day provides a fantastic opportunity for the Red and White family to meet the stars of our side, including of course, our Brazilian trio Fred, Alex Terra and Maycon.

“We hope to see as many members of the Heart family in attendance as possible as we wish our team luck ahead of the season.”

Over 2,000 fans packed Heart HQ in February this year for the inaugural staging of the event, with the Club-s faithful flocking to La Trobe University-s Sports Fields.
