After commencing 2013 with a bang and with a maximum points haul, Melbourne Heart FC’s next match on home soil will be crucial for the fans of the Red and White.
After a fantastic display of support from our fans on Sunday against Brisbane Roar, there are more exciting prospects at our next match at home.
In a first this season, the Club will be handing over control of certain aspects of the match-day experience to the supporters when we take on Adelaide United at AAMI Park next Friday, 18 January.
Heart members will ‘Own the Experience- for the round 17 Hyundai A-League clash and be able to play a significant part in the evening-s entertainment and Club activities, while engaging with their fellow supporters.
Club Song
Like many Clubs around the world, Heart members have initiated a club song which will be sung prior to kick-off and trialled for the match against the Reds.
The song will be played after both teams walk out of the tunnel and onto the pitch just prior to the match commencing.
Played over the loud speaker and with the lyrics being relayed on the big screen, the Club is aiming to recreate a European atmosphere, with fans on their feet, singing as one, from every side of the stadium.
Once we-ve trialled the song, we-ll take feedback from the members post-match and see whether they want to continue with the concept.
Blogger Outreach Day
The Club is also rewarding Heart Foundation members with the chance to report on the full match-day experience from behind the scenes on a typical game day.
We-re inviting five Foundation members to immerse themselves in club activity from start to finish at AAMI and blog the experience.
They will receive a tour of the stadium, the chance to interview certain staff, sit on the sideline and report on the game, as well as receive amazing access to the post-match press conference.
Five a side on AAMI Park
We will be hosting a member-s five-a-side match at half time in front of the Yarraside end, letting member’s showcase their skills.
Fan’s Man of the match
Fans will be able to select their man of the match from the Adelaide game by taking part in a Facebook poll at the end of the match. Perceived top players will be selected and the fans choice will be announced by a member on the ground at the end of the match.
We-re looking for all our fans to become involved in the match-day experience and join the Red and White on match-day. Make sure you play your part.
