Melbourne City FC hosted the fifth annual Blue Ribbon Cup on Saturday night, following the Club’s partnership with the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation.

The event helped memorialise Victoria Police officers that have lost their lives in the line of duty and to raise funds for the organisation.

The partnership helps to ensure their sacrifice is acknowledged through a range of projects that benefit the wider community.

Melbourne City FC midfielder Erik Paartalu received the John Clarke medal for his man of the match performance on Saturday night. The 28-year-old was awarded the medal by John Clarke’s father, Tony post-match

Melbourne City FC provided Victoria Police spots for two of the Mini-Roos games at half time, as well as tickets for Tony’s family and friends to attend the fixture. Tony’s son Connor played in a Mini Roos game.

However the result didn’t go Melbourne City’s way, with Sydney FC taking out match for the first time in the Cup’s history.
