Melbourne Heart FC National Youth League central midfielder Paolo Retre has been included in Head Coach John Aloisi’s squad for tomorrow’s Melbourne Derby.
Retre, 19, could make his senior debut against Melbourne Victory in the Round 19 Hyundai A-League clash, but is likely to be utilised as a substitute.
While Head Coach John Aloisi opted not to reveal his starting line-up and the direct replacements for the outgoing Aziz Behich and Vince Grella, he confirmed Retre would be in his squad for the match.
“We’ll have young Paolo Retre in the squad of 16, Ben Garuccio as well, and Sam Mitchinson will come into the squad, so I think they are the ones that weren’t in the squad last week,” Aloisi said.
“Retre is a defensive midfielder and we haven’t got anyone at the back [as a replacement] at the moment just in case someone goes down, so then we might have to move one of central midfielders back so that’s the decision on Retre.”
Retre, ironically, is a former Melbourne Victory Youth player and could face his former Club off the bench tomorrow.
