Melbourne Heart FC midfielder Kristian Sarkies has earned a call-up to the match day squad for tonight-s Hyundai A-League match against Gold Coast United at Skilled Park.

Sarkies joins club captain Fred as the inclusions for the clash on the glitter strip, with Adrian Madaschi and Simon Colosimo making way due to injury.

Central defender Madaschi, whose 10-week deal at the club concludes today has been ruled out due to hamstring soreness while Colosimo will be sidelined for at least fortnight due to a knee injury.

The former Socceroo was substituted midway through Heart-s 1-3 loss to Adelaide United after emerging second-best in a challenge with Reds front man Bruce Djite.

With Madaschi and Colosimo out of the fray, starting defensive duties are likely to lie with the Young Socceroo pairing of Curtis Good and Brendan Hamill, who are each enjoying a breakout season in Red and White.

Hamill-s poise and technical ability has undoubtedly placed him on the path to future Socceroo honours, while Good, at only 18, has been a revelation, immediately asserting his status as a member of Australia-s generation next.

Meanwhile, strikers David Williams and Alex Terra have retained their places on the bench for tonight-s match, with Maycon and Kamal Ibrahim overlooked in their favour.

Although the absence of senior players Madaschi, Colosimo, Wayne Srhoj and Jonatan Germano are far from ideal, Heart-s return to the Gold Coast will be a stern test of the side-s much-vaunted depth, as well as its capacity to bounce back from midweek disappointment and return to the winners list.
