Melbourne Heart FC could miss up to four key players for the Club’s Round 26 Hyundai A-League clash against Brisbane Roar this Sunday.
Central defensive pairing Patrick Gerhardt and Simon Colosimo will be missing through international duty and suspension, respectively, while Jonatan Germano and captain Fred have suffered strains in training this week.
Gerhardt left this week to join the Liberian national team in preparation for his country’s World Cup Qualifier against Uganda on Monday 25 March.
Colosimo is serving a one match ban after receiving two cautions in Heart’s 3-1 loss against Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday.
Colosimo and Gerhardt will miss this week’s trip to Brisbane, although are likely to be available for selection against Central Coast Mariners next Sunday.
Midfield pairing Germano and Fred sustained hamstring and quad strains, respectively, in training yesterday and are unlikely to be available for selection against the Roar this weekend.
That paves the way for Nick Kalmar, Marcel Meeuwis and Jason Hoffman to vie for starting berths, while Head Coach John Aloisi will finalise his central defensive partnership in the coming days.
