Melbourne Heart FC will have a near full-strength squad for this Friday night’s match against Sydney FC, with the return of David Williams and Patrick Gerhardt from injury.
Williams and Gerhardt return after missing Melbourne Heart’s 2-2 draw at Hindmarsh Stadium against Adelaide United last Saturday, after both sustained minor ankle injuries in the side’s 3-1 win over Newcastle Jets a fortnight ago.
Both players trained with the group throughout the week and at the team’s familiarisation session at AAMI Park this morning, and have been included in the squad for the Round 17 clash.
However, Head Coach John van’t Schip has not revealed whether either player will slot straight back into the starting line-up, given Gerhardt’s replacement, Patrick Kisnorbo, was on the score sheet against Adelaide.
Van’t Schip has a selection headache in midfield with Orlando Engelaar and Jonatan Germano also back to fitness.
