Melbourne City FC has announced its 18-man squad to take on the Newcastle Jets at AAMI Park on Sunday.
After securing a hard-earned point away from home against Sydney FC last week, Melbourne City FC will return to AAMI Park this Sunday looking to register its first win of the season against the Newcastle Jets. David Villa started on the bench against Sydney and came on to score a memorable debut goal and the World Cup winner will look to replicate last week’s heroics at home.
Robert Koren and David Williams sat out round one, but have returned to an extended 18-player squad alongside Jason Hoffman who returns from a carry-over suspension from last season.
The Jets come into the clash after a late round one loss against the Central Coast Mariners. Marcos Flores and Jonny Steele will be the Novocastrians biggest threats with Ben Kantarovski and Sam Gallaway returning to the 18-man squad.
