Melbourne Heart FC has issued a statement denying former Qantas Socceroo John Aloisi has signed a deal for the club’s inaugural Hyundai A-League campaign.
Despite recent media reports linking Aloisi to Melbourne Heart FC, the club rejects any assertions that it has finalised an agreement for the 2006 World Cup star.
The club said: “John Aloisi has been, and continues to be, a great player. We have had discussions with John’s management, but we agreed that we would not pursue the matter with his management until after John had concluded his commitments with Sydney FC.
“We respect his position entirely. Melbourne Heart FC has taken this position with all players still actively involved in the Hyundai A-League Finals Series.”
