Melbourne Heart FC striker Josip Tadic and National Youth League full-back Sam Mitchinson visited the HeartWell foundation yesterday.

HeartWell provides goal-based rehabilitation and physical educational programs to empower children with a range of disabilities.

The pair helped provide assistance for one of HeartWell’s regular visitors, Patrick (pictured), who suffers cerebral palsy, in his regular training regime.

The meeting celebrated the partnership between Melbourne Heart FC and the AXF Group, who have partnered to raise vital funds for the HeartWell Foundation.

“Young Patrick is an inspiration for many young kids, he just wants to get better and get his body stronger,” Mitchinson said.

Mitchinson, who is sidelined with a quad injury alongside Tadic (broken toe), said Patrick had provided motivation on the training pitch.

“He provides a lot of inspiration to get fit and do all the requirements, rehab and all the exercises that he does here to get back and play again,” Mitchinson said.

Yesterday’s special visit launched the fundraising campaign, which will be followed by an online auction with a collection of signed Melbourne Heart FC player jerseys up for grabs.
