Team News: City ready to take-off against Jets

Our team is in for Thursday’s clash with Newcastle. See who’s made this week’s squad to take on the Jets at AAMI Park.

John van’t Schip has made three inclusions to the provisional side to take on Newcastle with Connor Chapman, Daniel Arzani, Ruon Tongyik and added to the 18-man squad.

The late call-up of Luke Brattan to the Socceroos squad means City will need to fill void left by the talented midfielder this week. Anthony Caceres is likely to occupy that midfield spot after coming off the bench last week against Brisbane.

It looks like Ivan Franjic could make his starting return to the side after the full-back declared himself fully fit to play 90 minutes. It is still undecided what role the Socceroo will play but van’t Schip made it clear that Franjic was a part of his selection plans.

City will still be without Nicolas Colazo for at least another week but the City Head Coach said the Argentine was making good progress after recovering from a burst ear drum.

The provisional squad will be cut down by two 90 minutes before kick-off.
