Team News: City’s Round 11 squad

The team is in for Friday’s clash with Sydney FC at Allianz Stadium. See who’s in and who’s out of this week’s squad.

Warren Joyce will bring a strong squad across to Sydney as his side looks to knock off the league leaders in arguably the match of the round.

Manny Muscat returns to the fray after picking up a one-week ban from his accumulation of five yellow cards this season. With the impressive debut of Nathaniel Atkinson in the front third and Osama Malik doing a job at right back, it is still uncertain whether Muscat returns to the eleven as competition for spots heats up.

Neil Kilkenny has also been added to the extended squad that will be cut but two 90 minutes before kick-off.

A surprise exclusion from last week’s squad was that of Bruce Kamau who struggled with a knee issue from the Newcastle Jets match. The winger won’t travel with the squad to Sydney this week as he looks to recover from the injury.

Bruno Fornaroli and Fernando Brandan are training at a limited capacity as they continue their recovery from their respective injuries.

City face Sydney this Friday night at Allianz Stadium, kick off 7.50pm before returning to AAMI Park for the Melbourne Derby on Saturday 23 December.
