The team is in for Sunday’s clash with Sydney. See who’s in and who’s out of this week’s side.

With little time to dwell over the Melbourne Derby result, City will be looking to make a statement this week as they face the league-leaders Sydney FC.

City will go into the contest unchanged with no injuries or suspensions picked up in the 31st edition of the Derby as Erick Mombaerts side will look to bounce back against the league’s strongest team over the past three seasons.

Denis Genreau will again sit out with his shoulder injury sustained against Newcastle. The midfielder is set for 3-4 weeks on the side-lines to recover from the injury. Youngsters Moudi Najjar and Stefan Colakovski have also been added to the extended side that will be cut down by two, 90 minutes before kick-off.

Melbourne City face Sydney FC at Netstrada Jubilee Stadium on Sunday, kick-off 7.30pm. City return to AAMI Park on Friday 3 January as they face Western United, kick-off 7.30pm. Tickets via Ticketek.
