Team News: City’s Round 18 squad

The team is in for Thursday’s clash with Newcastle. See who’s in and who’s out of this week’s side.

It’s set to be a massive clash between the league high-flyers as an in-form Melbourne City face second-placed Newcastle Jets in a traditional six pointer.

The hosts will be without the ever-present Bart Schenkeveld this week with the Dutchman picking up his fifth yellow card against Adelaide. The defender will sit out the mandatory match but will have ample replacement in Harrison Delbridge and Ruon Tongyik coming back into the squad.

The long-term ankle injury to Nathaniel Atkinson will see the youngster begin his recovery at CFA Melbourne immediately as his spot in the squad is filled by Bruce Kamau – who along with Tongyik and Stefan Mauk – returned to Melbourne from the AFC U23 Championships in China.

Don’t miss the action on Australia Day eve as we face the Jets in a massive encounter at AAMI Park, kick-off 7.50pm. Click here to get your tickets for the match.
