The team is in for Sunday’s clash with Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium. See who’s in and who’s out of this week’s side.
After last week’s 2-2 draw with Newcastle, Warren Joyce’s side will be boosted by the return of defender Bart Schenkeveld. The Dutchman misses last week’s clash through yellow card accumulation and will more than likely return to the centre of defence where he has made that position his own this season.
Youth trio Denis Genreau, Connor Metcalfe and Ramy Najjarine have been added to the extended squad with the group also still in calculations for the Foxtel Y-League Grand Final in Newcastle on Saturday. With a Sunday A-League match and three training sessions to be completed, Joyce and his coaching staff will make a decision on the youngsters close to the match.
The obvious omission is that of Ross McCormack with the forward’s loan period in Melbourne concluding this week. The Scot played off the bench during the past fortnight with a recurring Achilles issue. McCormack has returned to parent club Aston Villa.
Bruno Fornaroli continues his road to recovery, playing more minutes in the Club’s youth friendlies. He will continue to look for more match minutes as he prepares for his A-League return.
