Team News: City’s Round 6 Squad

The team is in for Sunday’s Remembrance Round clash with Western Sydney. See who’s in and who’s out of this week’s side.

It’s another slight shuffle for City this week with the exit of Tim Cahill on international duty with the Socceroos.

The attacker picked up his first start of the season against Sydney last Friday and was taken out of the match after 24 minutes from an ankle injury. Cahill has joined his Socceroos side in Honduras and may be doubtful for next week’s match against Brisbane with the short turn around to a Friday night match.

Cahill replaced the suspended Osama Malik on Friday and the defensive midfielder returns to the side this week after serving his one-match suspension.

Malik will have competition for his spot however with Marcin Budzinski, Neil Kilkenny and Marcelo Carrusca all playing a role off the bench last week.

Scott Jamieson also returns to the mix after an injury picked up before half time against Adelaide the week before. The full back will be in contention for a spot however Warren Joyce has made no guarantees on how he will line up against the Wanderers.

City take on Western Sydney this Sunday at AAMI Park, kick-off 7pm. Our women’s side will also be at AAMI Park for the second consecutive week as they face Newcastle, kick-off 4.30pm. Click here to get your tickets for the match!
