Team News: Defensive duo return for Wanderers clash

The teams are in for Friday’s clash with Western Sydney at AAMI Park. See who’s in and who’s out of this week’s side.

With a new Head Coach at the helm, City see the return of Michael Jakobsen and Osama Malik to the extended squad with the defensive duo returning from injury.

Jakobsen – who has overcome his calf trouble – and Malik – who has recovered from a quad injury – will return to the selection table this week alongside fellow defenders Josh Rose and Manny Muscat.

Promising young midfielder Denis Genreau and Connor Chapman exit the extended side as interim Head Coach Michael Valkanis will have his first selection dilemma of the season with a number of defensive options returning to the fray.

One man who won’t be in the squad this week is livewire Fernando Brandan. The Argentine still has a week to serve on his suspension picked up against Perth and will look to make a return to an almost full-strength City side against Adelaide.

City take on Western Sydney on Friday night at AAMI Park, kick-off 7.50pm. Click here to secure your place at the match or sign up today for our 3 Match Membership below!
