Team News: Kilkenny suspended for Brisbane

The teams are in for Saturday’s clash with Brisbane Roar at AAMI Park. See who’s in and who’s out of this week’s side.

After Wednesday’s Westfield FFA Cup triumph, the task of chasing down league leaders Sydney FC is now on the agenda as John van’t Schip’s side take on the Roar this Saturday night.

City will make a decision on the fitness of Tim Cahill before kick-off with the Cup Final match winner substituted off during the match with a knee injury. The goal scorer showed positive signs at recovery on Thursday and will be available for selection ahead of the match against Brisbane.

The major out for this week’s contest is the loss of Neil Kilkenny who will sit out through suspension. The midfielder has accumulated five yellow cards in eight league matches so far this season and will serve one week on the side lines.

Osama Malik returns to the mix from last week’s side after missing Sunday’s match against Wellington through an adductor injury. His 90 minute performance in the FFA Cup Final alleviated any concerns over his injury and will more than likely play a role on Saturday.

Celebrate our Westfield FFA Cup win as we take on Brisbane at AAMI Park. Take a pic with the trophy and meet Neil Kilkenny at City Square before the match and support the boys as they continue their march to the summit of the A-League table.
