Team News: Rested duo return

A full week’s rest and recovery has seen the return of two important players to our squad to take on Brisbane. See who’s in and who’s out of this week’s side in our Team News.

It’s no surprises that the three games in seven days would take its toll on John van’t Schip’s side last week but it’s business as usual with the return of Tim Cahill and Michael Jakobsen.

The duo return to the side with the latter dealing with soreness from the short turnaround while the Socceroos legend makes his way back into the squad after managing a knock to his Achilles he received in the early stages of the FFA Cup Melbourne Derby Semi Final.

City are almost back to their strongest compliment with Nicolas Colazo still a few weeks away from a full recovery while Ivan Franjic continues his road to full fitness, being available for the trip to face his previous side.

van’t Schip will finalise his side 90 minutes before kick-off, cutting the initial squad of 18 to 16.

City take on Brisbane Roar this Friday night, kick-off 7.50pm AEDT. See the match on Fox Sports 505 and SBS2.
