Melbourne Heart FC Head Coach John van’t Schip says his full attention is towards Sunday afternoon’s clash against Central Coast Mariners at AAMI Park.

Melbourne Heart FC Head Coach John van-t Schip is excited about the prospect ahead for the Club, but maintains that focus is firmly on Sunday-s game against Central Coast Mariners at AAMI Park.

Van-t Schip was yesterday announced as the club-s Head Coach for a further three seasons after taking over on an interim basis in January of this year.

Despite the focus being on him following the announcement, van-t Schip is purely fixated on getting a win on Sunday and keeping Heart-s finals chances alive.

“We-re focusing always on the next game and during the week different kind of things that you have to do,” van-t Schip said.

“Now the focus is on the game against Central Coast. We-re still in it, we-re still having a chance to get in to the finals so we know what we have to do.

“We will go out there and try to win this game and try to do it with the way we want with good football and improving our game plan and game style and so it-s a great challenge this Sunday.”

It will be the Mariners third game in just eight days, which included a trip to China to face Beijing Guoan in the Asian Champions League on Wednesday night.

“Of course Central Coast are coming from a long trip but they are trying to secure their spot in the finals as well,” van-t Schip said. “They-ll be well prepared for the game against us.

“Going back to two months ago when I had my first game back against them I think we have grown as a team so it-s interesting to see the boys play Central Coast now.

“In a home game I think we feel very good at AAMI Park and hopefully we can get a win.”
