Melbourne Heart FC will again stage the Victorian Premier League (VPL) Grand Final at AAMI Park following its second round Hyundai A-League fixture against Central Coast Mariners.

Melbourne Heart tackles the Mariners at AAMI Park from 5.30pm on Saturday 19 October 2013 and Football Federation Victoria (FFV) has scheduled the VPL Grand Final to commence at 1pm as a curtain-raiser to that match.

The double header, which was implemented in Melbourne-s first home match of the 2012-13 season, will provide Victorian football fans with the opportunity to consume elite level football and the finale of Victoria-s top tier.

Melbourne Heart-s CEO Scott Munn has welcomed the accord.

“After building on last year-s double header, this will be another great opportunity to celebrate grassroots football and to showcase both the national and local competitions,” Munn said.

“This event creates a clear and tangible pathway to elite sport and demonstrates that Melbourne Heart values community football at all levels.

“With excitement building towards round one of the Hyundai A-League, we-re looking forward to our season kicking off with a bang with a feast of football at AAMI Park.”

The two grand finalists will be decided after the VPL Final Series concludes next weekend.
