Melbourne City FC's Westfield W-League Semi-Final against Canberra United on Sunday 5 February 2017 has been rescheduled from 2:00pm to 8:00pm local time, based on the latest weather forecasts under Football Federation Australia's (FFA) Heat Policy.
The FFA Heat policy is based on the forecasted Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) and a threshold of 28 degrees is used to consider delay or postponement. There is a high probability that the WBGT of 28 degrees could be exceeded on Sunday at the scheduled kick off time of 2:00pm (AEDT).
To ensure the match is played at a safe and acceptable level, within the FFA Heat Policy, the match will now kick off at the rescheduled time of 8:00pm (AEDT).
The decision has been made well before the match to allow players, coaches, members, fans and broadcasters to best prepare for the delay in timing.
