Melbourne City Women’s FC forward Marianna Tabain has been named Professional Footballers Australia (PFA) Westfield W-League Player of the Month for October.

The 22-year-old has been a standout in the final third for Joe Montemurro’s side since crossing over from Perth Glory, scoring in each of Melbourne City Women’s FC’s four fixtures and contributing with three assists.

Currently sitting second on the Westfield W-League’s goal scorer standings – second to teammate Larissa Crummer – the forward also won a crucial penalty against Melbourne Victory at AAMI Park in Round 2.

“I’m really proud to have been voted as the PFA W-League Player of the Month,” Tabain said.

“Being voted by the players makes the award very special. It has been a great start to the season for us and we are determined to keep it going.

“I would like to thank my teammates, who have been brilliant to play with, and everyone at the club for their support,” she added.

You can see Tabian play this Saturday as Melbourne City Women’s FC host second placed Adelaide United at CB Smith Reserve. Kick-off is at 4.00pm.
