The team is in for Melbourne City’s season opener against Canberra United at McKellar Park on Sunday. See who’s in and who’s out of this week’s match.

Under new Head Coach Rado Vidosic, City will be looking to kick-off their 2018/19 Westfield W-League campaign with a win.

With a host of notable absentees missing the clash due to a combination of international duty, injuries and club contracts overseas, an opportunity presents itself for City’s youngsters to step-up.

New-signings Nia Stamatopoulos and Chelsea Blissett are set to make their A-League debuts, as Adriana Jones, Helen Caceres and Jasmyne Spencer are set to feature for the first time in new colours.

Vidosic will be looking towards the experience of championship-winning duo Lydia Williams and Rebekah Stott to provide on-field leadership.

Elise-Kellond-Knight, Yukari Kinga, Tameka Butt and Jodie Taylor will miss the clash as they are yet to arrive in Melbourne, while Sofia Sakalis is on international duty.

Matildas Steph Catley and Kyah Simon will miss the match through injury.

City take on Canberra at McKellar Park on Sunday, kick-off 4:00pm.
