One of the Club’s brightest young talents, Wade Dekker has enjoyed a meteoric rise to the Hyundai A-League.
The 21-year-old striker signed a senior contract with Melbourne City FC after impressing for the Club’s youth teams over the past three seasons, since joining from National Premier League outfit Northcote City.
Dekker’s development through the Club’s youth ranks were marked by his performances last season, claiming the National Youth League Golden Boot award as the competition’s top goal scorer, with 10 goals during the Club’s championship winning campaign.
In his third season at the Club, Dekker carried his goal scoring form into the more physical National Premier Leagues arena, scoring nine goals from 16 appearances.
An industrious striker who possesses a keen eye for goal, Dekker has already had a taste of first team action for John van’t Schip’s side, excelling during the Club’s friendly clash with English Premier League giants Manchester City.
Dekker showed a glimpse of what fans can look forward to when he went toe-to-toe with Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany, and will look to hit the ground running in his first senior A-League season.
