Melbourne Heart FC’s National Youth League Tasmanian right-back Jeremy Walker will debut for John Aloisi’s side against Sydney FC this afternoon.

Walker will team up with a back-line that includes Simon Colosimo, Patrick Gerhardt and fellow NYL player Sam Mitchinson.

While Walker will be celebrating his first match for the Red and White senior team, Colosimo will be making his 50th appearance for Heart.

Walker is likely to start in right back in the absence of Michael Marrone who is away on international duty with the Qantas Socceroos.

The 19-year-old has featured in Joe Palatsides’ NYL team this season and has been an integral part of their success so far this campaign.

Signed from the Tasmanian Institute of Sport National Training Centre program, administered by Football Federation Tasmania, for Heart’s inaugural Youth league campaign in 2010/11, Walker has made leaps and bounds in his two seasons at the club.

Walker was the first player to come through the Tasmanian National Training Centre, and advance along the national pathway.

He will come up against some of Sydney FC’s stars, including Alessandro Del Piero.
