Melbourne Heart FC will be represented in the Foxtel A-League All Stars after David Williams was today selected to take on English Premier League giants Manchester United in Sydney on July 20.

Williams was unveiled as the latest player in the All Stars team at AAMI Park this afternoon; a testament to the dynamic winger-s status as one the A-League-s most watchable talents.

“I-m very happy to be involved and it-s a huge honour to play with some of the A-League-s best players and of course against Manchester United,” Williams said.

Williams, 25, joins the All Stars on the day United revealed their tour squad for the match at ANZ Stadium later this month.

United-s manager David Moyes has named a near full-strength squad which includes the likes of Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie, Ryan Giggs, Rio Ferdinand and Michael Carrick.

While Williams had little time to digest the news of United-s squad announcement, the thought of facing some of the world-s best footballers has motivated him ahead of the clash against the Red Devils.

“It-s a bit overwhelming, but it-s a fantastic opportunity,” Williams said.

“Hopefully I have the chance to impress during the camp and I-m sure every A-League player will be doing their utmost to get on the field.

“It will be a big honour to play with some of the stars of the A-League, against the stars of the world.

“Hopefully our team can come together and find a system to utilise everyone-s abilities and talents collectively.”

Note:

The All Stars will debut against Manchester United at ANZ Stadium, Sydney, on 20 July with the match to be broadcast live and exclusive on the Seven Network nationally.
