In-form City full-back Michael Zullo has called on Melbourne City fans to come out in numbers on Easter Monday as his side prepares for an important run towards the Hyundai A-League Finals Series.

Speaking to SEN Breakfast on Wednesday morning, Zullo not only reflected on his impressive form in the late stages of the season, but how important fan support is for the players in such a positive period for the Club.

“We’re pretty much playing the most exciting football in Australia so there’s no reason we can’t get a lot more of a crowd,” Zullo said.

“We need that as a team, as a group of players, for fans to come down and support us. It really pushes us over the line and the upcoming games are important. They are absolute must wins for us so every bit of extra support we can get is much needed so here’s a call out to our fans to come out in numbers this Monday and get us over the line.”

Zullo’s form this season has almost reflected that of his side, with a slow start followed by an impressive late flurry and the winger is looking to continue his late season form in the final matches of the regular season.

“It’s been a challenging season for me to be honest,” he said.

“I had a serious knee injury last year so this was always going to be a big year for me coming back to Australia in my first season back after a long spell. I’m definitely feeling more like myself towards the end of the year and getting my fitness back and I’m surprised how much it has improved.”
