Matildas star Elise Kellond-Knight joined Melbourne City FC ahead of the 2018/19 Westfield W-League season from Swedish first-division side Hammarby. Kellond-Knight's switch to City ahead of the 2018/19 season, saw her return to the W-League for the first time since 2015, where she played for Brisbane Roar. During her time at the Roar, the midfielder played a crucial role in the club securing two W-League championships and one premiership. She has also played in Denmark, Japan and Germany. The Queenslander will be looking to add to her already impressive CV during her time at the Club. She has been twice named in the FIFA Women’s World Cup All-Star Team (2011, 2015), as well as being crowned W-League Young Player of the Year in 2009 and FFA Female Footballer of the Year in 2011. Kellond-Knight’s versatility makes her a brilliant addition to Rado Vidosic’s squad. Throughout her career the left-footer has played in various positions, most notably in defensive midfield and left-back.
