Melissa Barbieri
23 GoalkeeperLegendary goalkeeper, Melissa Barbieri, has signed on for the upcoming 2023/24 A-League Women’s season. The former Matildas captain has put pen to paper with City, re-joining the Club for her seventh season in City colours.
A leader on and off the field, Barbieri brings a wealth of experience to the squad having previously led the Matildas at the Olympic Games and World Cup campaigns alongside her success at City.
In July, Barbieri was recognised for her incredible contribution to Australian football with the PFA’s highest individual honour, the Alex Tobin OAM Medal. Our goalkeeper became only the second female to be recognised with the award, showcasing her leadership, commitment, achievements and dedication to the sport.
