Biography
Riley McGree joins Melbourne City FC on a one-year loan from Club Brugge in the Belgian First Division A ahead of the 2018/19 season.
The 19-year-old made his debut in the Hyundai A-League as a 17-year-old playing for Adelaide United in 2016. He went on to make 17 senior appearances for the club, before signing with Club Brugge in 2017.
At the beginning of 2018, the midfielder returned to the Hyundai A-League when he joined Newcastle Jets as an injury-replacement player. He made an immediate impact at the Jets netting five goals in 12 appearances, including his spectacular scorpion-kick goal against Melbourne City.
McGree has represented Australia at U-17 and U-23 level, scoring four goals in six appearances, and was named in Ange Postecoglou’s 30-man squad for the 2017 World Cup qualifiers against Iraq and the UAE.
